In case you missed it back in May, we offered up as part of a program swap with the Fulton County Museum, this great presentation on the duel between DeWitt Clinton and a political rival. Give this a watch, comment and let us know what you think or ask any questions you may have. Enjoy! #ErieCanal Erie Canalway National Heritage Corridor Canal Society of New York State

As 2020 comes to an end, let's take a look at this wicked fun image of the NYS Canal Investigating Commission, showing a party at the original Chateau Madrid in New York City, ca. 1903. (New York State Archives NYSA_A0834-77_B14_F5) "The Canal Investigating Commission investigated work already done on enlarging and improving the aforementioned canals; examined contracts for the work and whether or not they were properly made; and determined whether the amount of money already... expended on the work was properly expended and if additional money was needed to finish the work." They also look like they knew how to throw a party! More detail in the insets and captions. On this snowy day, how about taking a few minutes to watch this interesting history of the Erie Canal from YouTuber Simon Whistler. "Megaprojects is a program all about humanity's greatest achievements." There's a few inaccuracies or misspoken words but the overall lesson is great! Check out the comments section for some interesting conversation as well. #ErieCanal #History Erie Canalway National Heritage Corridor Canal Society of New York State American Canal Society...
