We’re sorry to report that, for the first time in 141 years, Seabreeze will not open for the summer. We were incredibly excited and fully prepared to safely open the park, but now will instead focus our energy on the 2021 season. Next year, the Jack Rabbit will finally get its belated party, and we’ll all come together for another summer of family fun! For more information on 2020 current passport and single-day ticket holders, group events and more, please visit: https://seabreeze.com/lp/park-closed-for-2020/

Pictured here, next to head mechanic Dean Shorey, is the giant drive wheel which once pulled the Jack Rabbit to the top of the first hill. It is ten feet in diameter, made of maple wood, and weighs around 1,000 pounds. A 12-inch leather belt strapped around the wheel generated enough force to move the train to the top. This old machinery has since been replaced by a modern drive system. We’re adding the drive wheel and other historic materials to our history display in the Carousel Building. Come check it out this summer! #jackrabbit100 #comegetyoursummer #rochesterny

We are 100 days away from Open and your first chance to ride the Jack Rabbit this year! DID YOU KNOW? On October 28th 1919, inventor John A. Miller received a patent for under-friction technology on railway structures. This opened the doors to creating roller coasters with taller hills, faster speeds, deeper dips and awesome negative g-forces. This is a photo of Miller's original drawings for the patent - check it out! #jackrabbit100 #tbt

This coming season, the Jack Rabbit will celebrate 100 years of roller coaster thrills! Comment (or direct message) with your Jack Rabbit photos, videos, memories and stories. Use hashtag #jackrabbit100 and we'll share the favorites. DID YOU KNOW? The Jack Rabbit holds a place of honor in amusement park history, as the oldest continuously operating roller coaster in America. It's also the first coaster to ever feature under-friction wheels - ushering in a whole new world of taller and steeper hills, faster speeds, fun bunny hops and awesome negative g-forces.
