The former Methodist Church, covered in snow. This building was demolished in 1913. The new church constructed in its place is now the Village Hall, Library, and Museum complex.
As seen in this month's Village Bulletin... this photo is not dated, but written on the back is "I am pretty sure this is Roslyn Park in back of St. Luke's Church, where we used to skate." Does anyone remember skating in Roslyn Park, before the trees were cut?
Who knows where this house is located? The museum is in the process of having the film reels in our collection preserved, and this house has shown up in some of the reels from the 1960s and 1970s.
The Sea Cliff Village Museum will be closed until further notice. We will be closed as long as the Nassau County Department of Parks, Recreation, and Museums closes its facilities. Stay healthy, everyone!
Join us on March 19th at 7 p.m. for local author Antonia Petrash's lecture and discussion on the local women's suffrage movement on Long Island. Did you know that although women in New York received the right to vote in 1917, the 19th amendment to the Constitution, giving all American women the right to vote, wasn't ratified until 1920 - one hundred years ago.
The museum will remain closed through April 19th. Stay well.
The Sea Cliff Village Museum would like to thank the Sea Cliff Fiber Arts group for a fun and fruitful Sewing Bee on Saturday! The Fiber Arts group generously spent the afternoon sewing muslin textile bags to help safely store some of the museum's textiles which are not yet stored in garment boxes. It was a productive afternoon, with laughter, snacks, music, and conversation in addition to the completion of over fifty bags. Thank you, Sea Cliff fiber artists, for your talent and enthusiasm! And thank you to the Sea Cliff Library for lending us the Children's Library!
The Sea Cliff Village Museum is OPEN today! Please stop by and check out our lovely new bathroom. We would like to thank Tim O'Keefe from O'Keefe Plumbing and Heating, Inc., and Nilton Cordero of NC Home Improvement Services for the fantastic job they did on our beautiful new bathroom. We really appreciate the professional and prompt services they provided. Thank you, Tim and Nilton!
The Sea Cliff Village Museum is closed today while we continue to do some work on our building. Come visit next week and see what we've done!

A great time was had by all who turned out for David Morrison's talk on the history of the Oyster Bay branch of the Long Island Rail Road last night. It was a reunion for David and Sea Cliff's own Debbie Pierce, who sold him the very last ticket on the Oyster Bay branch line in 1996 before the line was converted to vending machine ticket sales only.
Tonight! See you there!
Join Long Island Rail Road historian and author David Morrison for a public talk and discussion on the history of the Oyster Bay branch line, next Wednesday, Jan. 22 at 7 pm.
