Check out our special fall course offerings from our faculty in Kenya! We have two new online courses cross-listed in ANTH just for this fall. (2/2) Conservation biologist Dr. Abdelwahab Sinnary will teach "Understanding the Theory of Evolution: A Behavioral Perspective" at the 200-level (BIO 101 and BIO 102 are pre-reqs). "Using examples of African mammals, birds and insects the course explains some of the important elements of the evolution of animal behavior;" among humans, the course looks at gender and power among Hadzabe hunter-gatherers and Maasai pastoralists. It also examines "opposition to the theory [of evolution] within religious and political circles" and "touch[es] on the morality and the implications of some contentious scientific applications of the theory."
Dr. Pitre was awarded the Owen D. Young Outstanding Faculty Award by the graduating class of 2020! As part of the award she had to give their "Last Lecture." Check it out!
