Speech Language Therapy of Central New York LLC 11.12.2020

Dear parents, Speech Language Therapy of CNY, LLC is reaching out to let our families know, as of right now, we are still able to see children in homes and at our office. We are taking the highest precautions and implementing strict policies to maximize the safety of our clients, their families and ourselves. These will include but are not limited to the following: Per the state health department’s instructions , prior to each session we will be asking the following qu...estions: 1. Have you traveled to a country from which the CDC has issued a level 2 or 3 travel designation within the last 14 days? 2. Have you had contact with any persons under investigation for covid-19 within the last 14 days, OR with anyone with known Covid-19? 3. Do you have any symptoms of a respiratory infection (e.g., cough, sore throat, fever, or shortness of breath?) If the answer is yes to any of these questions, therapy will not be provided and further guidance will be given. For home visits, we will not be bringing toys into homes until further notice. We will use toys the child already has in the home. For office visits, we are asking that parents and siblings remain in their cars during therapy sessions when possible. We will come and get your child and bring him or her back after therapy. Hands will be washed prior to and directly after each therapy session. We will be disinfecting all hard surfaces in between each session. We will be wearing gloves during sessions, and after use, toys will be placed in a bin with the recommended Clorox solution to be disinfected. We will do all we can to maintain the health of you and ourselves and to continue to provide quality care. If at any point you have concerns or feel you need to put therapy on hold because of the coronavirus, please know your child’s spot will be held and services will resume when deemed safe. Our top priority is your child’s safety and health. We will do the best we can to navigate these unprecedented times with you. We appreciate you working with us to keep everyone safe and healthy!

Here is an excellent article explaining the difference between a Speech Pathologist and an early childhood educator and why it’s important for children with language delays and disorders to be seen by a speech pathologist. https://www.smartspeechtherapy.com/di-or-sp-why-its-import/
