The DC Circuit Court of Appeals ruled that police need a warrant to use a Stingray device to track your cell phone. SDNY Judge William Pauley came to the same conclusion last year: "Absent a search warrant, the Government may not turn a citizen's cell phone into a tracking device." It's good to see the courts coming out on the correct side of this issue.
