STEP Program at SUNY Old Westbury

This years Parent Group 2020 Senior Scholarship recipients Olusola & Mason! Congratulations!!! Every year the STEP Old Westbury Parent Group works persistently to support students in the STEP program. This year through fundraising, monetary scholarships were awarded to two STEP High School Seniors on the path to college. Thank you to all that collaborated in being able to provide such a great opportunity and a special thank you to our parents!!! Wondering how you can collaborate for this upcoming year? Sharing a quick recap of the year & STEP Closing & Awards Ceremony 2020! This academic year definitely threw out some curve balls but we made it! From classes, continuous research, advocating in Albany, campus tour, college & career prep workshops, fundraising, remote learning & more, we are so grateful for our college mentors, instructors, parents, students, workshop speakers and keynote speaker Mr. Brandon. Congratulations to you and all your hard work! For our Class of 2020 remember you are STRONG. Things may be different from what you pictured but all your hard work does not go unrecognized. More summer STEM Academy

This summer our STEM Academy was off to a great start! With students playing the role of a forensic scientists in our Forensics program- learning about the components of & building game sketches in 2D Game Development in Python Programming- training our future STEM researchers in relevant biomedical, ecological & genomics research through mentorship & learning the latest research methodology in our College Research program- introducing the fundamental principles & processes of the physical world through hands on & conceptually based exposure in our Physics program!
