I was surprised on waking up to find that I had something to say...it's been a long time.

This morning, because I was holed up in the house during a steady torrential downpour instead of being outside taking care of the pigs, I wrote a blog post. If you read it, note at the end, in bold, I suggest that it might take "incalculable generations" of struggle before we become the sort of beings that do not eat meat. This is a long, patient view that I can rarely muster, but it is clear to me that our appearance as this sort of being will mark a radical, and I would say evolutionary, shift in consciousness. http://bit.ly/M1zeO4

Did I mention that I am a full time farmer now? I gave up going getting paid to drive down to NYC once a week. I wish I could say that I am "living the dream," but I've been at it too long to continue to be blinded by that kind of romance. It's a job -- a hard, wonderful, heartbreaking, enriching job.
