Happy Mother’s Day 2022 Life keeps moving forward, time steals like a thief The days you are given, to precious and to brief First steps, first word, first scrape of the knee... First birthday, now second, can they really be three First recital, first game, first high school play First time in your car, watching them drive away First crush, first prom, first heartbreak and tears Helping them navigate, all their hopes all their fears Decisions, life choices, which way should they turn Much life yet to live, much more yet to learn College, the military, now out on their own First job, first apartment, how’d they get so grown Careers, a new home, a child on the way The cycle repeating, this was you yesterday Seeds you have sown, now sprouting anew Through all of life’s teachings, one lesson holds true We all come to realize, in times of crisis or calm Sometimes you need dad, but you always need mom! To all experienced mothers, new mothers, and soon to be motherswe wish you all the best Mother’s Day ever this year!!!

It’s a lot easier to do good work when you have good words to say and work with good people - Mark Harmon Today on Administrative Assistant’s Day we celebrated 3 amazing, valuable members of our team; Bonnie, Jaime, and Mary. Theirs are the first and last faces you see when you walk in or out of the clinic. They are genuinely good people, with big caring hearts, who consistently strive to make an extremely busy clinic flow smoothly. The amount of behind the scenes gymnastics needed to make our schedule work for both clinicians and patients is incredible. What they do on a daily basis is pure magic. We could not be the clinic we are without them. A huge shout out and heartfelt Thank You to the best front office ever!

April is Occupational Therapy Month where we recognize the contributions of our 4 OTs Natalie, Dawn, Lindsey, and Megan in their efforts to change people’s lives for the better everyday through their skill, dedication, and passion for what they do. OT is a science-driven, evidence-based profession that enables people of all ages to participate in daily living or live/function better with injury, illness, or disability. Our outstanding clinicians exemplify everything that is great about the profession. We are proud to call them colleagues. Thank you Natalie, Dawn, Lindsey, and Megan for helping to make Summit the destination of choice for those who trust us with their care!!!

Summit is proud to announce that one of our own Occupational Therapists, Natalie, has obtained the Graston Technique Specialist certification which is the highest level of achievement for Graston providers. Graston Technique Therapy is a form of instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization that allows for precise detection and treatment of soft tissue restrictions as well as muscle and tendon dysfunction. Graston is an adjunct technique which is a perfect compliment to our manual treatment philosophy. This is just another example of Natalie's holistic approach to care which is on display daily in our clinic. Natalie is always looking for ways to improve the product we provide and this epitomizes what an outstanding clinician she is. Congratulations Natalie!!

It was a day of learning for our staff here at Summit. We spent our lunch hour on a zoom call sharing thoughts and ideas with the creators of the Kayezen Vector training system which we use in our clinic. The Vectors are an innovative way to incorporate increased balance, and strengthening activities at lower levels of force during routine exercises to further challenge the user. They are safe and extremely versatile regardless of your injury or surgery. We were appreciative of their time and they appreciated hearing the different ways we found to use their product. We look forward to having them on site in April for further collaborative learning! Just another way we seek to continually improve our product for the community that supports us so well!

As we turn out the lights on 2020, I think back on what a year this has been. (Who would have thought that this year NOT wearing a mask into the local corner gas station could get you in trouble). To all of our loyal faithful clients, and to the new friends we have made along the way we say thank you for trusting us with your care. You are the reason we show up each and everyday. We cannot thank our staff enough for their altruism, commitment, and selfless dedication during this most trying year. They answered the call regardless of the circumstances without fail to serve the needs of the community that supports us so well. We hope you all stay safe as well as healthy and we look forward to better days ahead!
