Please join us for the opening of "Count No Man Happy Until the End Is Known" on May 7th, 2020!!! The virtual exhibition "#Count No Man Happy Until the End Is Known" invites the audience to explore ways in which the Anthropocene has profoundly altered the relationship between humans and the ecosystem, including politics, economics, sociality, security of many kinds, and as we see now, the entanglement of globalism and the new order of pandemicism. Climate volatility and all... that it ramifies force us to face the prospect of a very different human world and even a future without humans. ****Visit exhibition website**** https://www.macp.sva.edu/count-no-man-happy Artists: @shuyicsy @furendai @cheng.guo @astroecology @elslaurel @annepercoco #nextepochseedlibrary @volkankiziltunc @ssunki.st @shep_shape Curated by @victoriawangs Image: Volkan Kiziltunc, Last Boys in The Wood, 2013, fine art photography prints, courtesy the artist See more

MA Curatorial Practice at the School of Visual Arts is pleased to present Floating, curated by Angie Nee. The word floating can suggest contingency, change, and instability. In East Asian culture, the term describes people who leave their hometown to live elsewhere in uncertain circumstances, drifting as if floating on watereverything becomes flexible, changeable, and transient. Like other keywords of our timetransparency, migration, instability, rootlessnessfloating poi...nts to a lack of psychological belonging and the physical and mental states of being that result from that lack. The exhibition Floating takes the works of Asian-diaspora artists and related practices to explore the phenomenon of mutual shaping between people and their environment. Asia and America comprise the two ends of the exhibition’s geography. Geography here is understood as a repository where human emotions, memories, genes, and dimensions of cognition can be mapped. The exhibition divides the experience of floating into sections: Diaspora, Nomadism, Nostos, and Cosmopolitanism: four clues forming a floating atlas the audience can use to create new orientations. Please join us for the online exhibition opening for Floating on May 7th, 2020. MA Curatorial Practice at the School of Visual Arts is pleased to present A Ripple In The {Data} Flow Curated by Xinchen Du Virtual exhibition on view: May 7October 1, 2020 Check this out tomorrow via link: https://www.macp.sva.edu/a-ripple-in-the-data-flow... @svacuratorialpractice Artists: Gregory Edwards Huang Guaier + Wang Runzhong @guaier_and_runzhong Xiang Geng (Sean Fox) @seanfox_foto Tao Hui Marc Soda Molly Soda @bloatedandalone4evr1993 Ziyang Wu @ziyang_wu_art Esther Yijun Xu @estheryeexu Payne Zhu This exhibition proposes a series of urgent questions too often ignored in this age of global connectivity through three aspects of using the internet and information/data: cognitive fast food, emotional indifferent, and volitional expansion. Curated amid the unprecedented human novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, A Ripple in the {Data} Flow becomes an online virtual exhibition at a time when many events and activities are forced to go online. It thus reflects on how our understanding of reality and virtuality is enhanced by this extraordinary situation. Thanks all for helping me getting this exhibition together under these current circumstances! #virtualexhibition #internet #information #data #algorithm #svaciratorialpractice
