Hello friends, here is something you can do at home to improve your immune system ,as well as combat pain or discomfort ... CASTOR OIL packs have been in use for ages for reducing inflammation and increasing circulation at the point of application. One of the major benefits of castor oil is it keeps lymphatic system healthy, which is very important to cleansing the body. Some disorders that can be helped with Castro oil packs: * Liver disorders *Thyroid cysts and nodules* Non...-cancerous uterine fibroids*Ovarian cysts*Constipation*Gallbladder inflammation or stones*Inflamed joints*Lymphatic drainage* Headaches/migraines *Cysts in the breast tissue*General liver detoxification*Lung infections * Supports the immune system during a cold or flu. A leading theory of how it positively affects the immune system is via T-cells in the skin and augmentation of prostaglandins. The T-11 (or CD2) antigen is an alternate pathway for antigen-independent activation of resting T cells. The respective cell increase represents a general boost in the body’s specific defense status. Lymphocytes actively defend the health of the body by forming antibodies against pathogens and their toxins. T-cell lymphocytes originate from bone marrow and the thymus gland as small lymphocytes that identify and kill viruses, fungi, bacteria, and cancer cells. T-11 cell lymphocytes supply a fundamental antibody capability to keep the specific defense system strong. The skin T-cell theory postulates that the absorption of castor oil into the skin triggers T-Iymphocytes embedded in the skin, causing them to activate a local and/or generalized immune reaction. Here’s what you need: 1. A bottle of organic castor oil hexane free 2. A piece of flannel or old cotton T-shirt cut into large square (or a large piece of gauze) 3. A heating pad or hot water bottle 4. Large zip lock 5. An old towel (castor oil permanently stains, so it’s best to use an old towel) How to do a castor oil pack: 1. Place the piece of flannel or cotton T-shirt in a large bowl 2. Drizzle castor oil over until it’ saturated 3. Get heating pad turned on or fill up your hot water bottle. CONT. IN COMMENTS

Ahhh daydreaming of this day from last summer sitting by the lake.. For anyone in the New York City area that is currently witnessing this cloudy rainy day phys...ically and metaphorically, to anyone who has cabin fever or feeling frustrated and impatient to anyone who is on the front lines and to anyone who is feeling frustrated to even have to be working from home I want to let you know that currently we are collectively experiencing a lot of frustration due to not only this pandemic but due to spring time energy. From a Taoist perspective , the liver & gallbladder are the organs that are most associated with frustration , anger and impatience so the best thing to do today is give our liver & gallbladder some love. There’s different ways to do this, stretching & twisting at the waist be it yoga or just intuitive movement or even putting your hands over the organ itself can do great things physically, mentally & emotionally. Skin brushing especially along the side of the body. Peppermint tea as well as peppermint essential oil over the area of the liver are good for moving stagnancy. Anise tea & oil as well- Couple of other tips are to rub your ears as hard as you possibly can until they turn red, this will drain out some heat and fire that rise up from these organs. Also resting your eyes, try some cucumbers or even just a wet cloth. Try to stay away from alcohol and greasy fatty foods. You can also apply some acupressure or essential oil to the area I have listed above in the images. HERE IS THE EXACT LOCATION: Tai Chong (LV3) is commonly used for stress, lower back pain, high blood pressure, menstrual cramps, limb pain, insomnia and anxiety. Tai Chong (LV3) is located on your foot about two finger widths above the place where the skin of your big toe and the next toe join. To use acupressure on this point, (1) locate the point with your shoes off then (2) use deep, firm pressure to massage and stimulate the area for 4-5 seconds . Want to boost your immune system, skin and lung health? Have you ever tried dry-brushing? It’s a technique used to strengthen the body’s immune system and encourage removal of toxins. The lymphatic system, which is part of the immune system, helps clean the body’s tissues and maintain its balance of fluids. It includes lymph vessels that carry lymph fluid through the body plus lymph nodes that filter out waste, toxins and pathogens such as bacteria and viruses. But because i...ts pumping system is not very efficient, lymph fluidand the toxins it carriescan get stuck and accumulate in nearby tissues, causing swelling, impairing blood flow and increasing infection risk. Dry-brushing your skin stimulates the surface nerve endings, activating movement in the lymph vessels and pushing lymph fluid onward toward the lymph nodes, where toxins can be eliminated. Bonus: It also improves skin health and appearance by increasing blood flow and exfoliating dead skin cells. Brush in this order Along the inside of each arm from fingertips to armpit then along the outside from fingertips to shoulder. Along the inside of each leg from toes to groin then along the outside from toes to hip. From the crown of the head down the back of the head to the base of your neck then from the crown down each side of the head, behind each ear. From beneath your chin down each side of your neck (not the front of the throat) to your collarbone. On the entire front of the torso, stroking down from the navel area to the crotch then stroking up from the navel to the collarbone. On each side of the torso, brushing down from the waist and over the hips then up from the waist to the armpit. On the back of the torso, stroking down from the mid-back to the bottom of the buttocks then stroking up from mid-back to the shoulder area, until the entire back has been brushed. #spring2020 #holistichealth #statenislandacupuncture See more

In the three months of summer there is an abundance of sunshine and rain. The heavenly energy descends, and the earthly energy rises. When these energies merge, there is intercourse between heaven and earth. As a result, plants mature and animals, flowers, and fruit appear abundantly. Within Chinese Medicine, Summer is considered the most yang time for the year. Nature’s Qi is at full force; the fruit is sweet, the butterflies are hatching, and flowers are blooming. On a... physiological level our bodies own yang energy is also peaking at this time. This excess yang energy also brings with it its natural yin cooling counterpart which is sweat. Sweat is governed by our heart qi and can easily be depleted during the summer season with excess sweating. Depleting our heart yang energy can be damaging as it can set us up to start the winter with heart that is weak, leading to overall fatigue and depression in the winter months.Chinese Medicine Theory is unique in that is a constant balancing game. When there is too much of one thing, you try to balance out its counterpart. This method is particularly effective as it works on a preventative level instead of a reactive level like western medicine. With these subtle tweaks of our diet and lifestyle we can create an internal environment in our bodies that can sustain health year round. In order to balance out the effects of this excess yang energy of summer it is essential to replenish what is lost (yin fluids) and anchor the yang energy so that it isn’t lost with excessive sweating. This can be achieved with some dietary changes, herbal formulas and season specific acupuncture treatments. A prime example is watermelon because it so juicy and cooling or kiwis, now if you’re someone who is hothothot all the time go ahead and eat this straight but if you suffer from bloating and weak digestion, try sprinkling tiny bit of fresh ginger on it to alchemize and blend the properties.. also the flavor that supports the heart is bitter so try to get some bitter greens in such as endive, watercress, dandelions, dark chocolate, mustard greens, broccoli rabe are just some examples. #holistichealing#acupunctureworks#summer2020tour @ Staten Island, New York See more

This image is a perfect example of synchronization... I understand that The Guardian is a British newspaper that put out this deeply moving image but I received this as something bigger... we are the guardians of this land and all those that inhabit it. We need to come together to realize this otherwise there’s going to be nothing left to guard. The self destruction that is played out in our daily lives trickles into the earth we so desperately need. To all those lost by the fires in Australia and to the animals & land Know you are loved Rest in peace Dream your sweet dreams "Til your soul is released
