A few weeks ago, @humansofny visited the shop with an old customer of ours, Stephanie, better known as Tanqueray. If you haven’t heard her name or read her story you are depriving yourself of a narrative so amazing, so New York, it could be a movie. Who would believe that over 1,100 campers from all over the world gathered together to learn fromDavid Copperfield, David Blaine, Teller, and manymore of the world's greatest magicians? In the November issue of @geniionline, former Magic Camper @jeffprace penned an eloquent recap of Tannen’s Magic Camp Online. This year, though, no one slept in dormitories. Halloween is just around the corner, so we decided to dig through our collection of magical curiosities, looking for some spooky magic! One piece we found was the Card Spider. After a card is selected by a young audience member in their very own Halloween costume, a magical spider web is introduced. In the middle of the web rests a spider, who is a trained magician itself. In full view with no cover, the board is spun with a frenzy and a single card appears trapped in the spider's legs. It is, of course, the selected playing card.
