JUUL Labs has introduced Track + Trace. It allows confiscated JUUL Devices to be reported and investigated in order to stop the sale of JUUL products to underage users. If you're an adult that has confiscated a JUUL Device from an underage user, you can help stop underage sales by reporting the device online: Go to juul.com/report/device. Confirm how the device was confiscated and enter the product's Tracking ID number. That's it. Once a report is submitted, JUUL will locate the retailer and take appropriate action. If your teen is struggling with nicotine use, our Teen Intervene program can help. Contact our Prevention Educators at 294-9000 to arrange your virtual visit.

The 2019 Monitoring the Future Survey results show concerning trends around nicotine and marijuana use among college aged young adults aged 19-22. While the normalization of marijuana is prevalent, THC levels are typically over 20% in modern day marijuana, compared to 3.5% in marijuana from 20 years ago. For the still developing brains of young adults, this higher potency marijuana can be addictive. Nicotine is well known for it’s addictive quality. You can find all the s...urvey results here: http://www.monitoringthefuture.org//mono/mtf-vol2_2019.pdf Here are some of the headlines of the survey: Past month CANNABIS VAPING increased sharply among non-college young adults in 2019. Past year CANNABIS USE remained at historic highs. Daily CANNABIS USE was more common among non-college young adults in 2019 Past month NICOTINE VAPING rose dramatically over 3 years. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration will now require makers of benzodiazepines to outline the risks of abuse, addiction, physical dependence and withdrawal on the drugs' labels. Benzodiazepines, or "benzos," which include brand name drugs like Xanax, Ativan, Klonopin, Librium and Valium, are used for the treatment of anxiety, insomnia, seizures, social phobia and panic disorder. Even when taken at recommended dosages, their use can lead to misuse, abuse, and addiction, es...pecially when benzodiazepines are combined with other medicines, such as alcohol, opioid pain relievers, or illicit drugs. For more information on the new labeling, patient next steps or additional information visit: https://www.fda.gov//fda-requiring-boxed-warning-updated-i If you need help with your substance use, contact our Peer Engagement Specialists at 1-844-984-HOPE (4673).
