On yesterday’s @madegoods + @pigeonandpoodle panel we covered many things, including looking at a few before and afters. This is my former bedroom in our home that we gut renovated. We did many things to the home to make it work for us but I also took inspiration from the precious owner, because she had lived a full life in this home and clearly lived it well. In order to keep the serene tone of the bedroom I used a similar blue paint color (but fresher!) and because my daily life is so chaotic I opted for minimal accessories and clean surfaces. Today is the day! Finishing touches are something that can’t be forgotten, and in all of my projects we address this - art and accessories - in the very first meeting. These items complete a space, personalize the space, and really help homes reflect the personalities of those that live in them. Sometimes issues end up resulting in the best solutions. This building’s freight elevator ended up being smaller than expected, and the original dining table we had specified wasn’t going to get upstairs unless we hoisted it several floors. (Stressful and expensive!) We hadn’t actually purchased the table yet so we were able to pivot quickly. We designed this custom table with white concrete round bases and a @3form resin top with knife edge. Everything arrived easily and was assembled on site. Refreshed and ready to jump back in! I’m starting the week with a walk through with our new Brooklyn clients in their new home, followed by team meetings, and wrapping up with a prep call for our virtual panel on Wednesday with @madegoods @pigeonandpoodle @danddbuilding + @bethdianasmith.
