This weekend we were honored to dedicate a memorial plaque in the name of Sharon Ann Pupparo. Sharon was a 4 year old girl killed in a barn fire on the property... where the Oswego Town FD current sits. Members of the Pupparo family along with members of the Oswego Town FD family were on hand for the dedication ceremony. FD Chaplain George DeMass led the ceremony and provided some thoughts and prayers. Members of the Pupparo family also shared some thoughts, stories and notes. The Pupparo family was one of the big supporters of forming the Oswego Town FD so residents of the town could have improved fire department coverage. Photos attached were taken by Bob Day. See more

THANK YOU!!! We would like to thank EMT Crystie Weigand and her son Garrett for taking on some much need hydrant painting upkeep to the memorial hydrant we have... on the corner of Ct Rt 7/Ct Rt 20. Winter and the weather had taken its toll on the original paint job so Crystie and Garrett took a couple evenings to sand it down and then coat it with a couple coats of new paint. This hydrant is dedicated to Theresa Moshier, a past member killed during a domestic violence incident a few years back. THANK YOU Crystie and Garrett for getting things back in shape.

Tonight for training we worked on tanker operations and how to setup and operate with water supplied only from tankers. This is not our normal operation as our ...town is almost completely covered with fire hydrants. Many of the towns we go mutual aid to use tankers for shuttling water and we can be assigned a variety of tasks when we respond mutual aid. There is also the possibility of having to supplement our in town operations with a tanker shuttle if an incident is too large for the hydrant capabilities. Tonight we were fortunate to have members of the Hannibal FD and Fair Haven FD come out to train with us and bring their tankers with them. We setup a dump site at a simulated incident and also a fill site at an alternate location to be able to test all aspects of the operation. Thanks to Bob Day for photos showing many parts of the operation. Thanks to Chief Carl Emmons from Hannibal and Chief Dave Mendenhall from Fair Haven for helping get us all together.
