Treacle art studio for kids

Here is a fun project to do with the kids this Fall - make your own scarecrow! Here's how. Need: - big bag of dry leaves - nude nylon pantyhose... - plaid shirt, jeans & hat - craft raffia or real straw - rubber bands - felt or fabric scraps, needle and thick thread Stuff leaves into legs of pantyhose and fill tummy portion with leaves too. Tie top of pantyhose with rubber band (this is the top of the head). Pull the pantyhose legs through into shirt sleeves as these now become the arms. Rubber band cuffs and shirt hem. Fill shirt with leaves. Rubber band jeans hem and stuff jeans with leaves. Insert hem of shirt into jeans waist and here is your scarecrow! For finishing touches, cut out eyes, nose, mouth from fabric scraps and sew on. Sew on raffia for hair. Add raffia at ends of sleeves and bottom of jeans. Stick a hat on and prop him/her onto a chair. Done! Have fun!
