We were pretty busy catching babies yesterday (an appropriate celebration for the day!) but we would be remiss if we didn’t acknowledge that it was International Day of the Midwife!

The inequities black women face in healthcare, and notably maternal healthcare, is far from a new issue. But this #blackmaternalhealthweek we get a glimmer of hope towards change as we (finally!!!) see acknowledgment from the government and from lawmakers that this problem is real, and it is here, now. We must do better!
