Reserve your order and swing by the library on Election Day for a takeout dinner with fantastic sides, all for $12! 100% of funds raised go to support the library's public programming.... WHEN: Tuesday, November 3rd, appointments scheduled between 3:00-6:00 pm WHAT: Drive-Through Chili Takeout to support Western Town Library! WHERE: Western Town Library, 9172 Main Street, Westernville, NY 13486 HOW TO ORDER: Reservations are required. This event will be drive-through only. To order, call the Library ahead at (315) 827-4118 and leave a message on the library phone to reserve your order. You will get a call back to confirm we have the order and to assign a time for pick-up. We must have your reservation so we can prepare enough food! HOW TO PICK UP: On the day of the event, a cashier will be at the end of the library parking lot driveway and your order will be delivered to your vehicle there. Please form a line from the south end of town along Main St. so all of the line is on the right hand side of the road. Thank you! We have a phenomenal menu ready for you! What's happening at the Library? We are undergoing some construction and rebuilding our outside entrance to the basement level. Our front entrance has also received a facelift with new paint and a newly painted purple dropbox! Many of you have been wondering so we are going to give you some updates as we progress. We also have our air purification system in place for your safety and to help eliminate the COVID virus in the air. Stop in to see what's taking place as we make our library improvements!

Phasing out Hoopla Digital Unfortunately, Mid York and Western Town Library will be ending our subscription with Hoopla effective September 1, 2020. We're sorry to see it go, but we are stewarding our resources carefully, and will be putting our digital services funding into higher-impact options such as Overdrive.com (check it out -- they have a lot to choose from!). Any checkouts made through August 31 will be available for the duration of the normal checkout period. ... Masks Available for Purchase! WESTERN TOWN LIBRARY RECEIVES GRANT The Northern New York Community Foundation As stewards for... Kenneth V. and Jeannette Remp Sawyer Community Fund Westernville, NY June 2020: The Western Town Library is the recipient of a grant in the amount of $900 to replace and upgrade one of the computers at the circulation desk. The existing computer had been retired due to software that was no longer supported by the Mid York Library System. Mid York had loaned the library a computer to use until replacement was possible. The new equipment consists of a laptop, docking station, monitor, keyboard and mouse. Having a laptop greatly improves the inventory process while having the docking station allows for use of a large screen monitor for easier viewing of reports and websites. It also provides video and audio capability for virtual, on-line meetings. The Northern New York Community Foundation community grant program allows tax-exempt, nonprofit organizations in Jefferson, Lewis and St. Lawrence counties to apply for grants to fund innovative programs, projects and initiatives that positively affect the quality of life in the region. This grant was made possible because of the generosity of donors devoted to helping enhance the quality of life in our region through the Foundation. The Kenneth V. and Jeannette Remp Sawyer Community Fund was established in 2018 to support programs, projects and initiatives designed to broadly impact, and enhance the quality of life in the communities of Boonville, Constableville, and Westernville in perpetuity. Kenneth V. Sawyer and Jeannette Remp Sawyer were passionate about the quality of life in their community. They believed that contributing to community with meaningful acts of philanthropy are key to a fulfilling life.
