How much do you know about Wheatland history?
The first full week of June and already the herbs need a good trim. That means there will be lots of fresh herbs for the taking. Anyone interested in parsely, sage, (rosemary and thyme's not ready yet), winter savory, yarrow, lovage, and lemon balm? All can be used fresh or hang them up to dry for longer use. Send us a message and we'll arrange a time to meet at the garden. Bon appetit!
Wow!! Didn't expect such a response for the left-over plants. I'll check the number we have of each plant up for grabs and then starting tomorrow I will contact you all in the order I received your requests until they're all gone. Thanks and have a wonderful Memorial Day. Never Forget.
The garden is IN. The scarlet runner beans and the bush beans were the last to be planted--right before the temps took a nosedive. But within our little picket fence everything seems cozy and safe from nasty weather. So much so that the perennial herbs (which were up and at 'em in early March) already need trimming back in order to keep them producing all summer and fall. Sooo...not only do we have some nice left-over plants to give away, but we're offering fresh herbs. Haven't you always wanted to cook using herbs right from the garden? Or wanted to dry some herbs in your kitchen for later use? Now's your chance. Leave us a message and let's set it up.
Once again the gardentender here at the Sage-Marlowe House has started too many seeds and now there are quite a few nice seedlings that need homes. Here's what's up for grabs: chamomile, kolrabi, kale, and a few other things that I'm forgetting at the moment. If you're interested in free plants, leave a message here and by the time I get back to you, I will have remembered the rest. We'll arrange a time for you to pick up your seedlings. Thanks!
