Williamsville Fire Department 17.12.2020

The Williamsville Fire Department would like to express our deepest sympathies to the Twin City Ambulance Corporation, her husband Jeff Luke, and along with all their employees while they mourn the passing of AEMT Sara Luke who lost her battle with cancer. We worked side by side with her in the field, and she always had a smile on her face which we will miss! Our thoughts and prayers go out to all her family during this difficult time!

An update from Santa: Let the good folks of Williamsville (the children and adults of all ages,) know that I enjoyed my time with them last night very much. Their houses are decorated bright so I am certain we will find them even in snowy weather next week. I noticed every wave from every door, window, front lawn, and car. And I also got to see these fine EMS personnel at work when they were called to assist a member of their community in an emergency situation. The Williamsville Fire Department is always there for their neighbors and ready to help those they are trained to. Stay safe, stay well, and Merry Christmas to all!

We would like to sincerely thank Erie County Legislator Jeanne Vinal for securing funding in the 2021 Erie County budget for firefighter recruitment. Press Release: December 10, 2020... Legislator Vinal Secures Funding for Williamsville Fire Department Legislator Vinal was able to secure funding for Williamsville Fire Department as part of the budget for 2021. Legislator Jeanne Vinal was sworn in as Erie County Legislator for District 5, which contains about 75 percent of the Town of Amherst and includes Eggertsville, Snyder, Village of Williamsville, Sweet Home, and parts of Getzville. Willow Ridge. and most of Williamsville outside the village as well. In her first year as Legislator, Jeanne Vinal has secured funding for Williamsville Fire Department in the amount of $750. This is the first year Williamsville Fire Department has received any money from the County. Legislator Vinal said, "It was a priority for her to get funding for Williamsville Fire Department because she knows how important community groups such as this one are." The pandemic and shutdowns have strained community groups from both working toward their mission and from providing the fellowship, community, support, and fun of being together and talking things over face to face. In addition, membership outreach which is always necessary in any group has also faced a pause or at least a set back with the pause on large group in person meetings. The money will be used at the discretion of the board. Legislator Jeanne Vinal is planning to attend the next meeting to answer any questions and to speak on the budget and the state of the county. Legislator Vinal's legislative office is at 13 Lincoln Rd., Amherst, NY 14226; phone number is (716)836-0198; email is [email protected]. Legislator Vinal urges anyone in District 5 to reach out with ideas, suggestions, and concerns at any time. The Legislature meets Thursdays and Legislator Vinal is on the Small Business, Community Enrichment, Health and Human Services, Energy and Environment, and Minority and Women Business Committees; she is Vice-Chair of Energy and Environment Committee, and the Chair of Small Business Committee, which she founded this year. Legislator Jeanne Vinal is proud to serve Erie County District 5 and is glad to have been able to get this funding for Williamsville Fire Department.
