Dear Friends Welcome to our page, where will keep you updated with developments in New York State law affecting all NYS residents! Just moments ago, Governor Cuomo signed legislation to ensure that New Yorkers have greater protection when seeking care in hospitals and doctors’ offices across New York State during the COVID pandemic. ... You may have heard that the governor initially signed a law offering broad protection to nursing homes and other healthcare facilities when caring for COVID patients. Today, the governor made it more difficult for a nursing home or other healthcare facility to escape liability in the event of a negligence lawsuit. This is very important for all New Yorkers. Before, we have been forced to reject many inquiries at our office regarding COVID related deaths of family members in hospitals and nursing homes who had entered the facilities COVID free. Now, such inquiries may warrant investigation. Please feel free to call us at 7188337333 for a free consultation.

This is an important development for survivors of sexual abuse to be able to continue to seek justice through the courts no matter how many years ago the abuse ...occurred. NY legislature created a short 1 year window to take advantage of the Child Victims Act, and has now extended it due to the COVID shutdown. If you or someone you love is a survivor, do not delay calling a competent lawyer for a confidential free consultation. "Governor Cuomo Extends Child Victims Act NYSTLA is very pleased to share that Governor Andrew Cuomo will be announcing an extension of the Child Victim’s Act at his press conference today. Due to the PAUSE, many victims have not been able to avail themselves of this groundbreaking law either because they cannot meet with attorneys face-to-face or because their attorneys were not permitted to file. NYSTLA is proud to have joined the fight for the Child Victims Act early and to have been a dogged advocate to extend the original look back period. NYSTLA offers its heartfelt thanks to Governor Cuomo, Senator Brad Hoylman, Assemblymember Linda Rosenthal and Chief Judge Janet DiFiore for their commitment to justice. We are so grateful to the brave survivors of sexual abuse, our partners in advocacy and our own Jeffrey B. Bloom of Gair, Gair, Conason, Rubinowitz, Bloom, Hershenhorn, Steigman & Mackauf, Jeffrey A. Lichtman of Trolman Glaser Corley & Lichtman and David Oddo of Oddo & Babbat."
