You DO NOT need a public health order to separate yourself from others. If you have tested positive or know you have been exposed to a positive case STAY HOME a...nd away from others. CCHD is working as quickly as it can through new positive cases but can no longer connect with all new cases on the day it receives test results. Connection with contacts may take longer. Please be patient and do the right thing to protect your friends, family, and community. Since our 1/4 update, 46 additional lab-confirmed COVID-19 positive cases have been reported. Since our 12/31 update, 232 additional lab-confirmed COVID-19 positive cases have been reported. With the significant uptick in cases we are seeing, we ask that... residents limit their time in the community as much as possible. Stick to essential trips or visits like going work or school, medical appointments, or shopping for necessities. Shopping trips should be limited to single-person trips to avoid unnecessary crowding in stores. Continue to practice prevention methods such as wearing a mask that goes over your nose AND mouth; keeping at least 6ft between yourself and others; avoiding crowds and gatherings; washing your hands often or using a hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol; staying home when you are sick and; reducing contact with those who do not live in your household. Since our 12/11 update, 95 additional lab-confirmed COVID-19 positive cases have been reported and 63 individuals have moved to recovered. We continue to see ma...ny close contacts of positive cases becoming positive, as well as many new cases associated with small gatherings and informal interactions with friends and family members. In addition, approximately 25% of new cases are inmates at Clinton Correctional Facility. CCHD continues to advocate for our community, but understand that CCHD does not oversee or regulate State Correctional Facilities. In addition, guidelines for essential workers (such as the ability to work while under quarantine), are set by NYS, not CCHD. This holiday season has and will continue to look very different from those in the past. We continue to encourage all residents to take appropriate precautions, including wearing a facemask, watching your distance (maintaining 6 feet from others), washing your hands often, staying home when sick, avoiding crowds and gatherings, and reducing your contact with others outside of your household as much as possible. Recently, we heard that one of Santa’s elves was missing! So what did we do? We put our deputy dog, Warren, on a mission to find him! It was discovered that the... elf had been put in quarantine and so Warren and a couple of our deputies looked after him until he was released and could be safely brought to his family that he’d be watching over for Santa until Christmas. Deputy Schwartz and Deputy Bechard, with the assistance of Dispatcher Cross at Clinton County Emergency Services, located the family and safely delivered the elf last night! See more
