On Thursday, we laid to rest Firefighter Carmine Barresi of Engine Co. 64. A young and vibrant member of the FDNY, Barresi had a bright future ahead of him. Wha...t transpired last week will haunt us for years to come. Our hearts go out to his wife, who is expecting their second child in the coming months, his daughter, and his colleagues at ENGINE Co. 64 and Ladder 47. We will never forget your memory. See more

Remember to watch @tysummers_42 today as he honors @engine8ladder2battalion8 and the 343 and counting with his cleats for the NFLs My cause My Cleats day. Special thanks also to @j_lovett12 who was supposed to wear them but is on injured reserve. Let's never forget what happened on September 11th, 2001 and let's continue to honor and remember those who made the greatest sacrifice.
Engine8/Ladder2 Battalion 8’s firefighters killed on 9/11 are being honored this weekend by Ty Summers and John Lovett of the Green Bay Packers. The names of all 10 members killed will be on Ty Laws cleats as well as the number 343. John’s father John worked at Ladder 2. John suffered a season ending injury and Ty Summers is wearing them to honor all members who perished that fateful day and all members who continue to suffer from 911 related illnesses. See pictures and Ty’s Instagram post below.
We have learned that the Federal Government has raided almost $4 million from the 9/11 FDNY World Trade Center Healthcare Program. We demand they fix this. Tu...ne in to your local news this evening to hear the Uniformed Firefighters Association react and demand that the FDNY World Trade Center Healthcare Program be funded with every dollar promised to it by the American people. TODAY the FDNY laid to rest Firefighter James Marshall, of Ladder 84. Jimmy was appointed to the FDNY 10/28/2001. He started out in E217 in Brooklyn and later f...ollowed on to Ladder 84 in Staten Island He dedicated a lot of his time to the Fire Family Transport Unit, who assists families in their time of need or when grieving. He will be sorely missed by his brothers and sisters in the department and will be remembered as a firefighter dedicated to our trade, whose personality was unmistakably special. Our heart goes out to his loved ones and family, especially his daughter, and the members of 164/84 and Engine 217. Losing a member is never easy, whether it's on duty or off duty. His loss is just another weight borne by our firefighter family during this very difficult time. We thank all who are supporting the family, financially or otherwise, during this unspeakably difficult time. Jeff Wallen will always be in our hearts and his adventures are still talked about on the regular here at 51st street. His stories fill our conversations and now his bunker coat hangs on our wall.
Today we remember the 343 NYC firefighters, 10 from 51st street, and all the others who paid the ultimate sacrifice September 11, 2001. Never Forget.
