We are busy working around the clock to ensure the safety of our clients and caregivers during the COVID-19 pandemic attacking our community. This will be one of the hardest challenges we have ever faced. We remain committed to health and safety first. On February 28th, we sent our first "Virus Prevention Kits" to caregivers and have held countless meetings discussing with our caregivers, clients and families daily what will be best to keep safe. Tomorrow we will send ano...ther round of supplies. I wish we had more, as our own supply is dwindling and I am reading about how all across the nation those of us fighting on the front lines don't have adequate supplies. This is a modern day atrocity and speaks volumes about the gaping holes in healthcare and government. Everyone knew this was coming and this could've been done better. Local & State Government should have been preparing for months and years having adequate supplies for a pandemic of this proportion. I am so proud of the Generations Family for all of their vigor and determination as we fight this war against COVID19 together. #GenerationsFamilyStrong See more

Generations Home Care helps seniors maintain a healthy diet and hydration routine. It's important to realize that seniors need an age appropriate diet that will allow for better overall, stable health. Here's a tip: How you can spice up a regular Oatmeal into a bright, vibrant healthier dish? We like to add coconut oil for better brain function and energy. Add fresh fruits like blueberries, banana, strawberries. If those aren't available try canned peaches or mixed fruit.... We strongly recommend oatmeal as a nutritional dish to our clients.Oatmeal has many benefits including allowing for easier and healthier bowel movements. Many seniors are likely to develop bowel disorders due to a lack of fiber, but eating oatmeal regularly can keep this condition at bay. A single packet of instant oatmeal has 4 grams of fiber, and a serving of homemade rolled oats has even more. Oatmeal is extremely filling, easy to chew, and very affordable, so it is a great option for seniors. Thank you for reading. We are available to help with care of your loved one. Consulting with our agency regarding anything related to elder care is free. We offer the world to the seniors and families we are caring for.

What are some of the differences between in Home Care and Facility Care? In-home care options range from 24/7 care to a few hours a week. There is alot of preparation that goes into deciding which is better for your love one. Most seniors are looking to age in place within the comfort of their home where they can maintain a similar lifestyle to what it was before needing assistance. In facilities, care models are a one fit all schedule for meal and bed times. With in hom...e care the medical supervision remains under the direction of their long time physician and specialists. Whereas, in facilities they are typically forced to use the facility doctors to determine medication and treatment. Most people choose in-home care over nursing home care because they enjoy the freedom of being in their own home, in familiar and cozy surroundings. Many seniors report having a greater quality of life and happiness with in-home care. Statistics show that these beneficiaries actually have up to 50% fewer doctor’s visits annually and are less susceptible to infection. One on one in home care helps stabilize health and maintain a clean home environment that is pleasant for care recipient and families. When considering in-home care, families need to decide whether to hire a caregiver privately and thats when Generations Home Care comes in. We help ensure professional boundaries are maintained and supervise our caregivers. We do much of the legwork including finding qualified candidates, running background checks, confirming their credentials and handling the financial aspects including caregiver payments and calculating withholdings for taxes. We cultivate our staff through a continual variety of outstanding training programs. Our tailored program is very different than what is currently offered on Long Island. Certified dementia and memory care caregivers are available, please contact the Founder directly at 516-849-1226. Thank you!
