Hello GPC, we will be having a churchwide time of intercessory prayer at 9pm daily. You can join us from your homes and pray these following topics with us: 1. A prayer of thanksgiving for keeping us safe today. Let us remain faithful to Him even through this time of illness. 2. A prayer for those who are in fear. Ask the Lord to give them courage and help them be brave. May the world hear His voice through the illness.... 3. A prayer for families who are going through a difficult time because of COVID-19. Ask God to console their hearts. 4. Pray that there would be peace in all the nations and that the economy would settle back down. 5. A prayer for doctors, nurses, volunteers and other medical professionals. Ask God to give them strength and wisdom to endure this season. 6. A prayer of wisdom for the world leaders so that they can make decisions that can calm the world and promote healthier environments. 7. Ask that GPC's heart of worship and prayer will remain fervent. Pray that God would keep our families, jobs and health under control. Also for our church to mature and grow deeper in faith through this experience.

Humans of GPCNY: Ashley Kim Thank you Ashely for sharing what's in your heart with all of us! Q: Are you learning or doing anything new, during the quarantine?... - During quarantine I branched out to try and find some hobbies so I learned how to knit and I also started to paint a lot. I actually knit all my family members scarves for Christmas. And I also knit myself a HUGE blanket that I'm planning to use when I go away to dorm. Q: What is your favorite hobby, and why? - HAHA I think right now my favorite hobby is knitting while watching Netflix or korean variety shows like running man or 2 days 1 night. It's just fun to watch a show and have something to do mindlessly. Q: What do you miss most about your life before the pandemic? - Being able to go outside and eat with friends. Before COVID eating with my friends was my way of destressing or just having fun and because I'm unable to do it now I had to find other ways to have fun or to destress. I miss going out to eat hot pot and also having that time just to talk with my friends while eating good food. I also really miss playing indoor volleyball. Although I love grass, when the weather gets cold (like right now) its hard to gather people to play, but before I would be out playing like twice a week. Q: What is your favorite bible verse? - Proverbs 16:9 "We can make our plans, but the Lord determines our steps." It's a constant reminder that regardless of how much I plan or want something, if it's not God's will then it won't happen. And it also reminds me that what God has in store is better than anything that I can try to plan for or want. Q: Any prayer requests? - Prayer request: find good friends at NYU and to not slack off just because I'm leaving home. To continue to follow God not because I feel like I need to keep up a certain image of myself but because I truly want that relationship with Him.
