You won’t find any city employee more dedicated to their job then Chief Stuart. On Thursday he had knee surgery and it will keep him out of the office and away from the fire scenes, so on Friday the firefighters from A Shift drove by the Fire Chiefs house and show our support. Get well soon Chief!!

In anticipation of starting Advanced Life Support transports in the near future, City of Tonawanda Professional Firefighters went through a hands on ambulance simulation today to familiarize themselves to this new work environment to continue to provide the best level of care possible.

This morning firefighters from B & D Platoons were out training on a multitude of skills that they encounter on the fireground. The firefighters pushed themselves to their physical limits in completing these tasks in succession. Your A Shift firefighters were out at the Town Fire Training tower this morning sharpening their skills. We always practice to make sure your ready when you need us. Today they completed some skills circuit training. The skills included: Using Ladder 1 to rescue trapped victims, pump operations, hose deployment, victim search and rescue, hose line advancement flowing water, laddering a building, FF rescue, tool hoisting, and finally some cardio work on the stairs.
