Fats are bad ... right? . Negative! Dietary fat has 6 major roles... provides us with energy ... helps balance our hormones... forms or cell membranes... forms our brains and nervous systems... helps transport soluble vitamins A,D,E, and K. ... . This doesn’t mean go out and eat all the BK, Taco Bell , and McDonald’s ... we want fats to come from less-processed foods such as nuts and seeds, avocados, dairy (which we should limit), eggs, poultry, olive oil , and thats to only name a few ... . I hear this too often ... what is the best diet? 2 things here ... 1. I don’t like the term diet for that implies short term (nutrition should be used long term for it is a chosen lifestyle) and 2. There is no best diet. Here’s why ... . Clients are diverse and differ in ways such as ... body type, fitness and body composition, dietary preferences and exclusions, budget, organic/conventional, nutrition knowledge and diet history, time, ethnic background and heritage, a...nd age ... . You can choose to eat healthy and consume foods that will fuel your mind and body but your nutrition should not be the exact same as someone else ... as stated above ... every client is diverse . Nutrition is a science and should never be tossed around without the knowledge either basic or advanced ... hormones play a huge part in our bodies ... let’s not take them on a roller coaster ride ... over time it takes a toll making it hard to bounce back .
