Dear MAC Angels Supporters, The year 2020 has certainly been a year of challenges most of us could have never imagined, and, perhaps more than ever, we have been reminded that there is nothing more important than our health. The pandemic has presented a new set of challenges to our families and impacted our PALS in a variety of ways. Visits to ALS clinics were suspended for months, PALS had reduced access to care as doctors' offices were closed, and the healthcare community ...struggled to find ways to continue care to an already vulnerable population. Most of our PALS opted for remote telehealth interventions which, while helpful, can't replicate in-person visits. These challenges also increased the burden placed on caregivers. While most ALS clinics have returned to some level of in-person visits, not all specialists are available to provide the level of support our families so desperately need. Our team of professionals at MAC Angels has maintained contact with our families virtually to provide emotional support, practical information, and connections to financial and community-based resources to ensure that their needs are being met. Filling this void through supportive outreach, assistance and advocacy is what we at MAC Angels do best. Our families are keenly aware that we care about them and they are always our top priority. Since a MAC Angels gala was not an option this fall, we are relying on this annual appeal, and support from our wonderful community, to raise the funds that are so crucial to supporting our families. Thankfully, our core group of Angels has once again provided a challenge match for our fundraising campaign. Due to the wonderful generosity of this core group of Angels, every dollar donated during December will be matched up to $75,000! We hope you will accept our Double Donation December challenge and help us meet our goal of $150,000 so we can continue to provide support and compassion to our PALS and their families.
