2013. Superstorm Sandy. The Galley Ho & the bulkhead 8 years ago! It’s hard to believe now that we were once there. Thanks to the support of so many people, the New Suffolk Waterfront has been transformed into a beautiful place for everyone to enjoy year-round!... There’s (always) more work to be done & we still need your help so that we can continue our mission to preserve & protect this special place for everyone. Please donate if you can so we can continue to spruce up the property ( woohoo to Steamboat Wharf!) & offer great programs for all ages to enjoy! To donate, visit our website. Just click on the link in our bio. Our best wishes to everyone in the new year & thank you See more
The Waterfront & the Galley Ho 8 years ago! It’s almost unbelievable how far we’ve come since 2013! Your continued support has made all of this possible and we are forever grateful! We still need your help to continue to make the Waterfront even better - for everyone to enjoy, 365 days a year! So please consider an end-of-year donation if you haven’t done so already. We are already very hard at work planning more fun programs & events for the coming year! To donate, visit our website @ www.newsuffolkwaterfront.org. And while you are there, sign up for our email blasts so you can find out first thing about all the upcoming happenings at the Waterfront! Thank you & our best wishes to everyone in 2022.
TGIF! Come down to the Waterfront this weekend for lunch or dinner! Get some fresh, local Peconic Gold Oysters at Case’s Place by the Galley Ho while you’re there! #casesplace #peconicgolds
And they’re off! Gorgeous night for a sail! First real race of the season!
Six boats racing on a beautiful night!
Battle of the chowders Which one do you prefer? Thick Creamy New England or Cases Family recipe?
It’s a beautiful night for a sail! Should see a few out there tonight! Race starts at 6:00 pm!
Roll up your sleeves and help us rejuvenate the Meadow at the beautiful Waterfront! A group of friends of the Waterfront are rehabilitating the native plants meadow in front of Case’s Place @ the Galley Ho. You are invited to join us. Come learn about the meadow and its native plants, help out with weeding and edging, join in the camaraderie, and share cider and donuts with us. We will meet at 10:00 by the community garden at the Waterfront. ... No need to bring tools; we have enough on-site. Please observe social distancing rules while visiting the Waterfront. Masks are required at all times. Hope to see you there! - The Meadow Mavens

A little NYC Oyster History.... Can you believe it? $12,000.00 for a single jar that once held pickled oysters in the mid-1800s?!... https://www.crockerfarm.com//Extremely-Rare-and-Important/

Reposted from @northforkoysters From the way back machine. Hard to believe it was two years ago today that we walked into the Fishing Station at @poemarine and ...into a family. The living history in those walls and stories told across the counter were amazing. It was a project that nearly killed us, but we'd never give back the time we had and the people. My goodness, the people.... Cheers to the wonderful Lieblein family who have been remarkable friends, and caretakers of this special place, its history and it's future. Thanks to everyone who always asks about it and extend hopes for what it could have accomplished. We share your dreams. @station1946 #aquaculture #infrastructure #workingwaterfront #sustainability #preexistingnonconforming
