The Museum Association of New York presents its virtual programming for the fall, including several virtual tours of Dutch colonial houses in the Albany region. On Monday, October 26 at 12.00pm, join the virtual tour of The Van Ostrande-Radliff House. This tour of the oldest building in Albany, built in 1728, will explore a unique piece of early American Colonial history. #Recap: On October 8th, representatives from the Kingdom of the Netherlands and the United States cut the ribbon to open Prodrive Technologies’ new manufacturing facility in Canton, Massachusetts. During the hybrid ceremony, Her Majesty Queen Máxima and Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker virtually gave remarks and activated an Automated Guided Vehicle robot to begin the opening. The Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum explores the stories behind artworks in the Guggenheim’s collection through a series of online talks each focusing on a single work of art. On October 20, 2pm, the talk will focus on Vincent van Gogh's 'Landscape with Snow'(1888) Megan Fontanella, Curator, Modern Art and Provenance, and Lena Stringari, Deputy Director and Andrew W. Mellon Chief Conservator, discuss the history and recent technical findings of the artwork. This small painting ...is among the first #VanGogh executed in the South of France. He had journeyed there in 1888 in search of new inspiration in the colors and light of the region, arriving only to find snow on the ground. Last week, Ambassador Andre Haspels and Consul General Herman Quarles van Ufford visited the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. In 2017, Rose-Marie and Eijk van Otter...loo joined Susan and Matthew Weatherbie to donate 114 Dutch and Flemish paintings to the museum and an endowment to establish the Center for Netherlandish Art (CNA). This month, the second series of mini concerts named Miniatures II will be released in four editions: October 8 (out now!), 15, 22 and 29. Following the success of the first series of 4 episodes combining visual and performing arts, filmed at the Van Gogh Museum, the second series was recorded at Teylers Museum Haarlem, the first and oldest museum of the Netherlands. It offers a musical connection with themes from the work of John Constable in the current retrospective exhi...bition. Miniatures inspired by Music and Visual Arts is an initiative of violinist and artistic director Tosca Opdam in collaboration with Toscata Foundation, Van Gogh Museum, Teylers Museum and Ceramics Museum Princessehof. The project consists of short online concerts connecting art works to musical themes.
