To obtain your Security Guard License, you must first meet the Training Requirements which requires all persons engaged in security guard activities be registered with the New York Department of State (DOS), by completing the 8-hour Pre-Assignment course. Star Security Group offers the 8-hour Pre-Assignment course 4-days a week: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday only.

The 16 Hour On-the-Job Training (OJT) Course is an essential training crucial for ensuring that every registered, licensed guard in the city has the knowledge needed to fulfill his or her job role. It's protocol you take this course as most employers will not hire you unless you take the course. It is also mandatory to take this course within 90 days of obtaining your security guard license and for those that are licensed, the state will not renew your security guard license until the 16-hour OJT course is completed.

Want to Become a Security Guard in New York State. All security guards are required to complete an 8 Hour Pre-Assignment Training Course prior to applying to the Department of State for a Security Guard Registration Card. Star Security Group offers the 8 hour Pre-Assignment Course every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday only....
