Criminal Contempt and DWAI Drugs Arrest Media Release: February 24, 2021 Criminal Contempt, DWAI Drugs Arrest... Steuben County Sheriff Jim Allard reports that on February 18, 2021, deputies of the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office arrested Joshua A. Bradshaw, age 31, of Reservoir Hill Road, Addison, New York, following an investigation of a reported domestic abuse incident in the Town of Corning, New York. It is alleged that Mr. Bradshaw, while on Townsend Avenue, Corning, New York, violated a duly served Order of Protection which protected a person in his family or household. It is further alleged that when Mr. Bradshaw left the scene, he operated a motor vehicle in an impaired condition due to drug use. Mr. Bradshaw was charged with Criminal Contempt in the First Degree and Driving While Ability is Impaired due to Drugs. Mr. Bradshaw was arraigned in the Centralized Arraignment Court and released. Sheriff Allard thanks the Village of Painted Post Police Departmen for their assistance in this arrest.

Strangulation and Imprisonment Arrest Media Release: February 16, 2021 Unlawful Imprisonment, Strangulation Arrest... Steuben County Sheriff Jim Allard reports that on February 9, 2021, deputies of the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office arrested Matthew J. Machuga, age 22, of County Route 1, Campbell, New York, following an investigation of a reported domestic abuse incident. It is alleged that Mr. Machuga, while on County Route 1 in Bath, New York, unlawfully restrained, choked, threatened and damaged property of a person in his family or household. Mr. Machuga was charged with Unlawful Imprisonment in the Second Degree, Strangulation in the Second Degree, Criminal Mischief in the Fourth Degree and Aggravated Harassment in the Second Degree. Mr. Machuga was arraigned in the Centralized Arraignment Court and released. Sheriff Allard thanks the New York State Police for their assistance in this investigation.

Media Release Steuben County Sheriff’s Office K9 Mac to get donation of body armor Steuben County Sheriff’s Office K9 Mac will receive a bullet and stab protective vest thanks to a charitable donation from non-profit organization Vested Interest in K9s, Inc. K9 Mac’s vest is sponsored by Mozart Lodge 436 of Norton, VT and will be embroidered with the sentiment Gifted by Mozart Lodge No. 436. Delivery is expected within 8-10 weeks.... Vested Interest in K9s, Inc., established in 2009, is a 501c (3) charity whose mission is to provide bullet and stab protective vests and other assistance to dogs of law enforcement and related agencies throughout the United States. This potentially lifesaving body armor for four-legged K9 officers is US made, custom fitted, and NIJ certified. Since its inception, Vested Interest in K9s, Inc. has provided over 4,183 vests to K9s in all 50 states at a value of $6.9 million, made possible by both private and corporate donations. The program is open to US dogs that are at least 20 months old and actively employed and certified with law enforcement or related agencies. K9s with expired vests are also eligible to participate. There are an estimated 30,000 law enforcement K9s throughout the United States. Vested Interest in K9s, Inc. accept tax-deductible contributions in any amount, while a single donation of $960 will sponsor one vest. K9 Mac is a 27 month old German Shepherd, who is certified in bomb detection tracking. He is currently working on certifying in patrol and assigned to Deputy Micah Swarthout. He became a member of the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office in May of 2020. Mac is named in memory of Michael McCartney who was an attorney with the Steuben County District Attorney’s Office for over 30 years. Mac enjoys chasing and playing with his ball and loves going to work. Mac also enjoys spending time at home running and playing with the other dogs he lives with.

Grand Larceny Arrest Media Release: February 1, 2021 Grand Larceny Arrest... Steuben County Sheriff Jim Allard reports that on January 28, 2021, deputies of the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office arrested Elizabeth A. Colegrove, age 27, of Wilson Lane, Tioga, Pennsylvania, following an investigation of a reported stolen vehicle, jewelry, shotgun and cash, from December 17, 2020. It is alleged that Ms. Colegrove, while on Bollen Road, Woodhull, New York, stole cash, a shotgun, jewelry and a vehicle. Ms. Colegrove was charged with Grand Larceny in the Third Degree, a Class D Felony, Grand Larceny in the Fourth Degree, a Class E Felony and Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the Fifth Degree. Ms. Colegrove was arraigned in the Centralized Arraignment Court and released.

Toys for Tots Fill a Patrol Car Event BATH, N.Y. A Toys for Tots campaign entitled Fill the Patrol Car sponsored by the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday (Dec. 12) at Walmart locations in Painted Post and Hornell. Steuben County Sheriff Jim Allard encourages those who can donate to bring unwrapped toys to either location for distribution to needy children in Steuben County. Donations of unwrapped toys can also be made at drop b...oxes at the Steuben County Public Safety Building, 7007 Rumsey St., Bath, N.Y. Erwin and Hornell: Saturday, December 12th, 2020 from 10am 2pm Deputies of the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office, staff from the Steuben County Sheriff’s Foundation and the Steuben County branch of Toys for Tots will be collecting unwrapped toys for the US Marine Corps Toys for Tots program, and gently used coats for the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office Winter Coat Drive. Both programs exclusively serve Steuben County residents in need. The Sheriff’s Office will have a patrol car stationed in the parking lots of both the Erwin and Hornell Walmart stores to collect donations. Whether you are donating a coat or a toy, it will benefit a child in Steuben County said Ray Dell, Chairman of the Steuben County Sheriff’s Foundation. We are excited to work with Sheriff Allard and the team at the Sheriff’s Office to directly help children in need. While you are shopping this Saturday, stop by our patrol cars and help out a neighbor in need. Obstruction of Breathing Arrest Media Release: December 2nd, 2020 Criminal Obstruction of Breathing, Child Endangering Arrest... Steuben County Sheriff Jim Allard reports that on November 29, 2020, deputies of the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office arrested Ryan B. Wright, age 32, of County Route 125, Campbell, New York, following an investigation into a reported domestic incident on South Street, Addison, New York. It is alleged that Mr. Wright choked another person and that person was under the age of 17. Mr. Wright was charged with one count of Criminal Obstruction of Breathing, and one count of Endangering the Welfare of a Child. Mr. Wright was arraigned in the Centralized Arraignment Court and released.

Steuben County Sheriff Jim Allard reports that on December 1, 2020, deputies of the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office arrested Anthony W. Tohafjian, age 30, of Elmira Heights Road, Elmira, New York. It is alleged that Mr. Tohafjian violated a duly served Order of Protection requiring Mr. Tohafjian to stay away from a protected person while in the Town of Caton. It is further alleged that Mr. Tohafjian was previously convicted of Criminal Contempt in the Second Degree. Mr. Tohafjian was charged with one count of Criminal Contempt in the First Degree, a Class E Felony. Mr. Tohafjian was arraigned in the Centralized Arraignment Court and released.

Welfare Fraud Arrest Media Release: December 2nd, 2020 Misuse of Food Stamps... Steuben County Sheriff Jim Allard reports that on November 25th, 2020, deputies of the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office arrested Calvin Buck, age 57, of Maple Street, Hornell, New York. It is alleged that in October 2019 Mr. Buck did on several occasions transfer his EBT benefit card to another person knowing they were not authorized for use. Mr. Buck was charged with one count of Misuse of Food Stamps. Mr. Buck was released on an appearance ticket to appear in the Village of Bath Court at a later date. The Steuben County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Steuben County Department of Social Services Fraud and Legal Affairs Unit, and the District Attorney’s Office.
