UB Asian Studies Program SUNY 08.12.2020

As we are all encouraged to stay at home during these uncertain times, we’d like to provide a #virtualescape to remind you that the world is a beautiful place! ...Let us introduce Emma Cremean, who participated in the Korea University program during Winter 2020. I made friends from all over the world. During my last week in South Korea, I wrote thank you notes to those who supported me so far from home. Remember the people and shared moments that matter by saying thank you. Learn more about this program here: https://bit.ly/37wjsx8 #UBabroad #UBuffalo #FeatureFriday

Stressed about end-of-semester exams? You wouldn't be the first! Check out this manuscript from the National Library of Korea: "Examination paper (sigwn ) for the literary examination (mun'gwa ) of the traditional Korean state examinations (Kwag ). The righthand section of the paper bearing the identity of the candidate is still folded and sealed. The inscription Hamgyng-do indicates that the candidate was from that province and the seal ‘ Sin Knbong ’ implies that it was to be presented to the King. The text is a Chinese poem of the 'fu ' genre extolling the virtues of the king and entitled in Chinese 'Si fang lai guan zhe jie gan hua qi de '." http://access.bl.uk//viewer/ark:/81055/vdc_100106514848.0x
