From Police Commissioner John J. Mueller: The #YonkersPD was honored today with a visit by Miss Haley Quatrocci and her wonderful family. Haley reached out to the Yonkers Police to look for a project to assist our police officers. Ultimately, she settled on raising funds to supply a significant number of canvas pouches that can be attached to the officers duty belt and carry rubber gloves. Haley’s idea was both extremely thoughtful and important, considering the concerns wit...h COVID-19 and other blood-borne pathogens. It will provide the officers the safety of having a pair of disposable gloves at the ready in the event they are needed. Just a quick thought: so many people today feel as though a simple social media post always equals accomplishment. Haley took an idea that would help others and put her thoughts into an actionable plan and executed the plan. She took the path of what I like to refer to as 'service over sermons'. Her truly selfless act are a lesson to all of us, not to just provide thoughts on a given topic, but to weave actionable steps with an eye on making the world a better place - one kind gesture at a time. Thank you Haley!" See more
