Thanks to the WHOLE Police Exam Career Prep crew; Joice, Angel, Amaris, Ricky, Betzaida and Ameliaand also Kit from Open Access for joining us today as we covered all the usual areas and ventured up the El Camino Trail to do some cleanup and community engagement. It was a BEAUTIFUL day to walk the trail and talk to community members. We even managed to get a couple hundred + sharps into a container and on their way to be safely disposed of. #togetherweDOrecover #community #connection

Harm reduction means keeping someone around for another day to get the help they so desperately want and need. Ask yourself: if my child/parent/sibling/relative/loved-one were using out on the streets, would I want someone trying to make sure they were using safely and giving them resources and information and clean supplies or would I rather they used behind an abandoned house or in a field somewhere that they would be exposed and defenseless and without assistance should they take a fatal dose? We are out on the streets every week engaging people in active use and seeing that scenario play out again and again. There but for the grace of God go you or I. Get over the stigma and the ignoranceGet the facts and tell our lawmakers to do the same. This WILL save lives. It already has in so many other places. Please sign and share.
